 Musical Prayer and Meditation
Described as "beautifully entrancing" and "soul soothing", MAHA RAS is an inspired musical prayer and meditation performed by Madani Jimi Bridges on various instruments from around the world including Africa, India, Tibet, Jamaica, Japan, Europe, Native America, and more. The culturally rich and diverse musical influences of MAHA RAS come from various styles and disciplines of music including Indian Classical, Native African, devotional bhajans, kirtan, nada-yoga, mantra-yoga, nyahbinghi, folk, blues, gospel, jazz and soul.
The music of MAHA RAS is all original and natural, without the use of drum machines, synthesizers, or samples. Madani expresses that "this music is a living art form coming out of the heart. It is music of healing, of peace. It cannot be classified or labeled under any one style or type of music. It's uplifting international music or world music for all people... for everybody."
Madani Jimi Bridges is a visionary composer, performer and accomplished multi-instrument musician of improvisational and sacred music for over 20 years. He has been a student of the art and science of music since age 7, studying Western and Eastern approaches to music and life; including, Indian Classical and Devotional Music, Nada-Yoga, Sufi Music practices, Native African Music, Folk, Blues and Roots Music, as well as studying Modern Jazz composition and improvisation.

Madani Jimi Bridges created MAHA RAS, in 2005, through personal experience and inspiration to share with others that music is a means of tuning oneself to the Infinite. MAHA RAS is an ancient sanskrit word meaning "intoxication with the divine ."
MAHA RAS with Madani Jimi Bridges is currently sharing with audiences an inter-active presentation on The Mysticism of Music and the Healing power of Sound, added with a live performance of 'soul soothing' musical prayer and meditation.
MAHA RAS music is presented in many settings such as performing arts centers, universities, colleges, benefit concerts, community and cultural centers, dance and yoga centers, youth centers, schools, churches, temples, mosques, private parties and gatherings, art galleries and other venues..
